Rescue rehabilitation is challenging but extremely rewarding. Over the past 30 years a number of disadvantaged dogs have taken temporary shelter under my roof. It has been wonderful to see each dog evolve from wary introverted animals into loving, social companions.

Our current visitor is a Malti-Poo named Tuffy. His issues and challenges have been lengthy but he is truly a wonder dog. It never fails to amaze me how far a dog can come when treated with love and kindness. With his tremendous progress, I am sure he will be ready for a forever family in the New Year.

Trixie--A Border Collie cross farm dog abandoned by owner, timid but very eager to please. A very loyal dog that was good with kids. She was matched with a young farming couple with 2 young kids.

Boots--A  shy, highly sensitive Malti-Poo with some fear of men came into my life when a neighbor asked me to look after him for a week. The owner never came back. A kind hearted older lady connected with him and gave him a wonderful home.

Ranger--A large good natured Husky cross who had been picked up by the local animal shelter. I sprung him on his last day before slated euthanasia. We had a wonderful short time together before someone stole him and the 25 ft chain he was attached to late one night. I could only hope his owner had found his wherabouts and reclaimed him.

Mitvik--A lovely Samoyed male that had been sold to a family then returned to the seller because he kept running away. I took him in on a temporary basis while looking for a forever home that would be better matched. I discovered that it just took affection and lots of exercise to keep him around. I placed him with a family who's own Samoyed had been stolen and never recovered.

Sheba-- A young German Shepherd female that ended up in an overcrowded animal rescue was released into my care. After a period of  assessment and some retraining she was placed in a family home on an acreage.

Scamp--A Poodle/Shelti cross from a 12 pup litter. The owner was moving and desperate to get rid of them immediately on weaning. Taking one puppy was one less for the pet shops. During her lengthy stay with us she proved to be an intelligent and faithful companion.

Sumo--A 4 year old Japanese Chin given up by his pet family to be euthanized due to health problems that included seizures. After an in-home assessment, he was found to have muscle spasms due to lack of exercise, infrequent seizures brought on by high stress situations and bad teeth due to improper diet. We decided to adopt him and with a solid rehabilitation program, he regained a good portion of his health and physical condition. We were blessed with Sumo in our lives until he reached nine years old.
